Students are given half an image and are asked to complete the second half. Once completed students could discuss in groups what they have included as well as reasons why.

For an added stretch and challenge aspect the image provided could be one such as the famous Brazil squatter settlement and apartments photograph or a satellite photograph of Cape Town.

Again misconceptions or development vs. poverty could be addressed here as t why neighbouring areas contrast, linking in a synoptic approach which would be particularly useful for A-level students.
