Beef, Bible and Bullets. By Richard Lapper

The introduction provides a brief overview of Bolsonaro’s military and family background, before examining how he brought people together – hence the title of the book Beef (farmers), Bible (associated with the rapidly growing and financially, powerful evangelical churches) and Bullets (politicians who defend the wider ownership of guns and a tough approach to crime).

Despite the book being largely centred on Bolsonaro’s political influence, there are some brilliant sections focusing on the Amazon rainforest, Brazil’s agricultural industry, trade and the role social media plays in its’ politics (pg 40, 45).
